Excursion Guide (Dec. 10th afternoon)

The schedule for the first day of workshop, December 10th (Friday), includes time for excursions in Kyoto. The time for excursions is from 12:20pm to 15:30pm. There are three excursion routes from which attendees can choose. (Each course is led by local arrangement members). l. North Course includes two world heritages: Ryoanji temple (Rock Garden) and Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion). You cannot miss these too famous temples in Japan! 2. East Course includes Kiyomizu temple and Kodaiji temple. Enjoy exploring the prestige stone pavement. You may find apprentice geishas in this area….!? 3. West Course includes Adashino-Nenbutsuji temple and Tenryuji temple. We will walk a lot in Japanese pastoral scenery, and enjoy quiet Kyoto. Please enjoy. Points to notice: 1. Be prepared for a long walk, wearing suitable shoes and clothes. It is suggested that excursion attendees bring these items with them to the workshop. 2. There will not be time before, during and after excursion to go back Hotel. Please cooperate with the workshop staff during the excursion to the best of your ability. (When you want to leave the group during the excursion, let the staff know) 3. Please inform the meeting secretariat if you have any special dietary needs for lunch (We plan to have vegetarian diets on North course and West course). 4. The cost for lunch and temples entrance fees will be bourn by the attendees.Transportation (Taxi) will be provided at no cost to attendees. However, if you choose to leave the group, you will be responsible for your own transportation. 5. In case of an emergency, please contact the excursion staff via the phone, and go directly to Kyoto Research Park by 15:30 (The name and phone numbers of the excursion staffs are given on the page of each course).
