Research in the Digital City Project
I am working as a researcher of the subproject conducting research on adaptive verbal interaction for exchange information on cities. User adaptation is an important technology to design computer systems so that everyone can use the systems without any barriers. To establish core technologies for adaptive verbal interaction, we have been analyzing data on how people adaptively describe routes and developing a user-adaptive route advice system based on the analyses.

Biography

I received the B.E. and M.Eng. degrees from Kyoto University, in 1983 and 1985, respectively. After joined NTT in 1985, I have been working on Artificial Intelligence, especially on Agent Oriented Programming and Modal Logic. From 1989 to 1990, I was a visiting research scientist at the Robotics Laboratory and the Computer Science Department of Stanford University. I am currently working on Digital Cities. I am a member of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence, the Information Processing Society of Japan, and the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence.
