Research in the Digital City Project
I am working as aresearcher of the subproject conducting research on adaptive verbal interaction for exchanging information on cities. This subproject has adopted pedestrian navigation as its task domain. It now focuses on:
1. the analyses of real verbal navigation dialogues between people which differ in various aspects such as ages, gender, or domain knowledge, and
2. the development of an adaptive verbal navigation system, which reflects the expertise extracted from the analyses.

Biography

I received the B.E degree in information engineering and the M.E. degree in computer science from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 1994 and 1996, respectively. In 1996, I joined the Basic Research Laboratories, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), Japan as a researcher. I am currently a researcher of the NTT Communication Science Laboratories. My research interests include utterance production and dialogue management in spoken dialogue systems.
